The Spanish & Portuguese Research Group (SPRG) is a monthly workshop consisting of graduate students from the Department of Spanish and Portuguese of UMN and special guests from the university or other institutions. Our guests may range from faculty from local institutions to graduate students from other departments. Both graduate student and guest speaker present their current research to the public. Research can be at any stage of preparation, preliminary or well developed; the philosophy underlying SPRG is that it is an informal but secure space to share our work and receive constructive feedback from our peers or prepare for a conference.

Meetings are usually 1.5 hour-long sessions, wherein each presenter receives approximately 20 minutes. Afterward, we provide time at the end for comments and questions on each presentation. We also provide refreshments. Please join us for our next session of SPRG!
